15-day trip to Thailand off the beaten path

Thailand 15 days: travel off the beaten track

Traveling 15 days in Thailand is to enter a world where every landscape, every perfume, every encounter seems to open a door towards the essential. Here, the light has a particular softness: it caresses the golden roofs of the temples, is reflected in the endless rice fields, slides on the turquoise waters of the South and envelops the mountains of the North with an almost mystical veil.
Thailand is discovered like a murmur, an invitation to slow down, to observe, to feel.

Off the beaten track, the country reveals all its depth. Bangkok reveals its fascinating energy, a mix of millennial traditions and contemporary daring. Then come the sacred cities where the traces of ancient kingdoms still float, the villages of minorities that perpetuate a precious craft, the lively markets where perfumes of herbs, flowers and spices mix. On the northern paths, the mountains breathe serenity, while the forests are home to communities for whom time seems to flow at the rhythm of nature.

Further south, the sea takes over: translucent lagoons, beaches lined with palm trees, secret islets accessible only by boat… The journey is then more contemplative, like a luminous interlude between snorkeling, sea walks and tropical sweetness.

Over these fifteen days, Thailand becomes a profoundly human and sensory experience: simple gestures shared during a cooking class, a Buddhist ritual at sunrise, a smile offered around an alley, a meal at home, a silent boat sliding along the channels.
This stay is an open-heart discovery, an itinerary designed for those looking to meet a country rather than simply cross it.

An authentic, vibrant, harmonious journey that reveals Thailand as we feel it, as we live it, as we never forget it.

Complete program of the 15-day Thailand circuit

Day 1 | Bangkok | D

Upon your arrival in Bangkok, the capital reveals its fascinating energy. The journey from the airport already plunges you into this unique blend of modernity and Thai traditions: sparkling temples, impressive skyscrapers, colorful markets and lively alleys.

At the end of the day, a first walk in the company of an English-speaking guide offers you a glimpse of daily life in Thailand during a food tour: street food flavors, tropical fruit stalls, temple songs and vibrant traffic. This first evening gently sets in motion your 15-day trip to Thailand, between discovery, curiosity and wonder.

Day 2 | Bangkok | B

The day of visit in Tuk Tuk with our guide begins with the visit of the Grand Palace, absolute symbol of the royal Thai history. A perfect day for those who wish to understand Thai culture beyond postcard images.

In the evening, take part in a cooking class with your host and learn to prepare traditional dishes.

The ascent to Doi Suthep, one of the most important sanctuaries in the country, offers a spectacular view of the valley and a privileged moment in contact with pilgrims and monks.

Day 7 | Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai | B

Departure with our guide for this day. The excursion in the mountains takes you to an authentic and preserved Thailand. Meetings with the inhabitants allow to approach the traditions of the North and to understand the richness of minority cultures.

During the evening you can go stroll at your leisure in the night market.

Day 8 | Chiang Rai | B, L

Your tour continues with a day in small group with a guide in a local market where the stalls are full of typical ingredients: aromatic herbs, fresh vegetables, regional specialties. An ideal stop for travelers in search of authenticity.

Cuc Phuong National Park

Cuc Phuong National Park, natural jewel of North Vietnam

Vietnam’s first national park, founded in 1962, Cuc Phuong National Park is a true sanctuary of nature and biodiversity.
Located about 120 km south of Hanoi and near Tam Coc, it extends over more than 22,000 hectares of primary tropical forests, home to an exceptional wealth of fauna and flora.

Cuc Phuong is a place apart, where you can feel the quiet power of nature: ancient trees reach up to the sky, the songs of birds resound in the canopy, and the paths wind between rivers, caves and green valleys.

This park, considered as one of the green lungs of Vietnam, is also a major center for the preservation of endangered species.
There is the famous primate and turtle rescue center, where local teams work every day to rehabilitate animals before their return to the wild life.

But Cuc Phuong is not only a natural space: it is also a place full of human history.
The discovery of the Nguoi Xua cave, or “cave of ancient man”, attests to the presence of the first inhabitants of the Red River delta more than 7,000 years ago.

Visiting Cuc Phuong National Park is to live a sensory and educational experience, between hiking, exploration and respect for nature.
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will dive into a lush universe, perfect for nature lovers, photographers and travelers curious to better understand the Vietnamese ecosystem.

Planning of the visit to Cuc Phuong National Park

Departure from the hotel around 8 a.m. with our English-speaking guide to go to Cuc Phuong National Park in the heart of a primary tropical forest sheltering an astonishing biodiversity.

Visit the Nguoi Xua cave and then discover the turtle rescue center. Then, go for a hike of about 7 km in the park to the millennial tree to discover the local flora. Then take a lunch break at a local restaurant in the park.

Go back to Tam Coc in the afternoon.

Why visiting Cuc Phuong National Park?

Nestled between the provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa, Cuc Phuong National Park is much more than just a tropical forest: it is a haven of wildlife and a mecca for nature conservation in Vietnam.
For travelers curious about nature, history and human encounters, a visit to this park is an essential step.

A unique biodiversity

Cuc Phuong is home to more than 2,000 species of plants, 120 species of mammals, 300 species of birds and hundreds of multicolored butterflies that light up the trails in spring.
This rare diversity makes the park a true open-air natural laboratory for biologists, but also a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

At the bend of a trail, it is not uncommon to see golden-headed monkeys, flying squirrels or even the discreet langur of Delacour, an endemic and protected species of North Vietnam.

A preserved primary tropical forest

Cuc Phuong National Park is one of the last primary rainforests in Vietnam.
Its millenary trees, some of which reach more than 50 meters high, form a dense and majestic canopy, offering a welcome freshness during hikes.

The well-maintained trails allow access to emblematic points such as the millennial tree, the Crocodile cave or the botanical center, which presents the richness of the local flora.
Walking here is immersing yourself in a timeless plant world, where nature reigns supreme.

The Precious Heritage Museum in Hoi An: a journey through the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam

In the heart of the historic center of Hội An, in the old French quarter, a small yellow house hides one of the most amazing places in Vietnam: the Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum, founded by the French artist Réhahn. This free museum, open every day from 8am to 8pm, is a real immersion in the cultural diversity of the country. In one place, you can travel ten years of exploration through the mountains, rice fields and remote villages, to meet the 54 ethnic groups that make up the human mosaic of Vietnam.

The experience is nothing like a traditional museum. Here, we don’t just look at objects behind windows. We enter a living universe, made of stories, faces, and colors. Each room tells about encounters, moments shared between the artist and the inhabitants of the most isolated regions of the country. The portraits are accompanied by authentic traditional costumes, often donated by the families themselves, as well as explanatory texts in French, English and Vietnamese.

A unique project born from a decade of adventures

The Precious Heritage Museum is the result of more than ten years of work. Réhahn criss-crossed the country from north to south on a motorcycle, often for several weeks in a row, to document the traditions, outfits and languages of these communities. Some of them have barely a few hundred members, and several traditions are now disappearing due to modernization. This fieldwork, carried out with patience and respect, has made it possible to build an exceptional collection of portraits and traditional clothing, some now untraceable elsewhere.

This project, started in 2010 and inaugurated as a museum in 2017, has a simple but essential ambition: to preserve the living memory of Vietnam. In a country in full transformation, where cities grow at breakneck speed, the Precious Heritage Museum offers a parenthesis of slowness and depth. One discovers the richness of an often unknown heritage, and the beauty of cultures that have crossed centuries.

A lively place accessible to all

The museum is also distinguished by its opening. It is free for all visitors and open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m to 8 p.m, without interruption. This accessibility is an integral part of Réhahn’s philosophy: art and culture must be shared, not reserved for an elite. Families, lonely travelers, children, expatriates. Everyone finds their place there.

For the younger ones, the museum offers a free exploration game that transforms the visit into an adventure. Equipped with a small UV lamp, the children go in search of hidden drawings in the different rooms. These patterns invisible to the naked eye appear only under the purple light, like a secret to be discovered. It’s a fun way to learn, to look carefully, and to marvel at the creativity that hides in every detail.

Families particularly appreciate this immersive approach: while children have fun playing the explorers, parents can take the time to admire the works and read the stories that accompany the portraits.

A meeting between France and Vietnam

The museum is also a reflection of the career of Réhahn, a French artist who has been living in Vietnam for more than fifteen years. Originally from Normandy, he found in Hội An a balance between his European roots and his love for Asia. His artistic approach is part of a form of photographic humanism: showing the beauty, dignity and diversity of peoples, without staging or artifice.

Visitors find this French sensibility combined with a deep affection for Vietnam. The museum itself is located in an old Vietnamese house in the historic center, carefully restored. Its ochre walls, its dark wooden beams and its windows open on the flowery alleys contribute to this soothing atmosphere, almost out of time.

Why you should absolutely visit the Precious Heritage Museum

Visiting the Precious Heritage Museum is experiencing a journey within a journey. It is a human and cultural experience, but also an aesthetic one. The photos on display are strikingly beautiful, playing with natural light and the textures of traditional costumes. Many visitors describe the place as a favorite of their stay in Hội An, an inspiring stop after walks in the old town and markets.

For photography enthusiasts, it is a look lesson: how to capture the light, the movement, the emotion of an instant. For those curious about culture, it is a dive into the complexity of contemporary Vietnam, between tradition and modernity.

Finally, for families, it is an accessible visit, free, and full of meaning. Children emerge proud of their discoveries, parents enrich with new knowledge, and everyone takes away a little of this precious memory that gives the museum its name.

Mekong tour – 5 days from Ho Chi Minh

Mekong 5 days from Ho Chi Minh

Venturing into the Mekong Delta is to enter a world shaped by water, light and the sweetness of life. From the first moment, the landscape changes: the skyscrapers of Ho Chi Minh City disappear to make way for a universe of woven canals, water palm trees and floating villages that seem to glide peacefully to the rhythm of the river.

Over this 5-day immersion, the Mekong reveals its subtle magic. The boats move in silence under the coconut trees, the floating markets come alive at dawn in an explosion of colors, the smells of tropical fruits mingle with the scent of warm rice, and the inhabitants welcome you with a simple and sincere generosity. Here, everything is a matter of wonder: the ballet of boats, the reflection of the sun on the brown waters, daily life that is organized between land and river.

Each stage brings a new emotion: the discovery of artisanal workshops, the crossing of vibrant rice fields, meetings in traditional houses, small paths that wind through the heart of lush orchards. The Mekong is not just a place to visit, it is a universe that one feels – an authentic, human, profound experience.
