For 12 days, you will travel the most beautiful landscapes of the North in the Center, guided by a professional francophone photographer passionate about Vietnamese culture.

From Hanoi, the vibrant capital with a thousand faces, to the illuminated streets of Hoi An, each stage is conceived as an encounter between gaze, emotion and sharing.
You will learn to compose your images, to capture the gestures of everyday life, to master the games of shadow and light that reveal the soul of Vietnam.

A 12-day itinerary between culture, nature and light

Day 1 – Arrival in Hanoi (D)

Reception at the airport upon your arrival then transfer to the hotel.

In the evening, first photo session in the alleys of the old district to soak up the Vietnamese urban atmosphere. Welcome dinner to meet the other participants and your management team.

Day 2 – Hanoi & road to the mountains (B, L, D)

Departure around 6 a.m. for a morning photo stroll in the old district of Hanoi. After breakfast, it will be time to take the road towards Mu Cang Chai with several photo stops. Installation at the ecolodge, dinner and free evening.

Night at the Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge.

Day 3 – Rice fields and ethnic villages in Mu Cang Chai (B, L, D)

Departure around 6.30 a.m. to discover the remote villages of Mu Cang Chai and meet with local communities. Photo session in the middle of the terraced rice fields at harvest time. At the end of the day, second photo session of the day for sunset photos from a spectacular viewpoint.

Night at the Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge.

Day 4 – Tea field and rice fields in Tan Uyen (B, L, D)

Departure around 6.30 a.m. for the morning photo session, with exchanges and advice before departure to Tan Uyen, famous for its tea plantations. Afternoon dedicated to photographing the workers and the hilly landscapes. Sunset on the hills.

Day 5 – Morning around the tea, afternoon at Ta Giang Phin (B, L, D)

Early departure around a.m. to join the tea fields and capture the workers’ images, then take the road towards Ta Giang Phin. In the afternoon photo walk in the village in the golden light.

Night at P’nue Farmstay.

Day 6 – Village life & evaluation photo session (B, L, D)

Free morning to review the photos and share your experiences. During the afternoon, walk through the villages to take portraits, photos of rural scenes and the sunset over the valley.

Day 7 – Ethnic Market & rice harvest in Muong Hum (B, L, D)

Early departure around 6 a.m. for the ethnic market of Muong Hum. Photograph of the Red Dzao and Hani peoples in their traditional clothing. During the afternoon, go to the countryside to take scenes of rice harvesting.

Night at P’nue Farmstay.

Day 8 – Portraits Red Dzao & return to Hanoi (B, L, D)

Morning in a Red Dzao village for a portrait session. Drive to Hanoi in the afternoon. Free evening or group dinner.

Night at San Boutique hotel.

Day 9 – Incense Village & flight to Hoi An (B, L, D)

Departure at 5.30 a.m. to visit a craft village dedicated to making incense, then flight to Hoi An.

At the end of the day, sunset photo session in the old town.

Day 10 – Sunrise by the water & rural life around Hoi An (B, L, D)

Around 4.30 a.m., at the first light of day, leave before dawn to join a fishing village located on the outskirts of Hoi An, where life begins with the rhythm of the tides. You will witness the return of boats loaded with fish, the lively exchanges in the market, and the precise gestures of fishermen who repair their nets in the incipient light.

In the afternoon, join the rice fields and agricultural villages around Hoi An for a photographic experience full of sweetness. The afternoon begins with a walk through the fields and paths, to meet the peasants working in the warm evening light.

Day 11 – Mastering the technique & farewell dinner by the sea (B, L, D)

Departure at 4.30 a.m., to embark on an unforgettable morning dedicated to the photography of the emblematic fishing nets of Hoi An. From a small boat, you will observe the fishermen maneuvering their immense nets gilded by the morning light, before joining a lively local market, still unknown to mass tourism.

Afternoon dedicated to experience sharing and image analysis. Closing dinner in Hoi An.

Day 12 – Hoi An at sunrise & departure (B, L)

Last photo outing in the old town at sunrise. Before the alleys come to life, the old town of Hoi An offers an intimate and poetic face. In the quiet of the morning, the lanterns are gradually extinguished, the inhabitants open their shops and the first rays of the sun caress the ochre facades and wooden houses. Guided by a local expert, you will discover the emblematic places but also the hidden corners of this city classified at UNESCO – a moment suspended between heritage.

Extension in Laos – Pakse and the 4,000 islands in 7 days

Take advantage of your stay in Vietnam to discover this extraordinary region of Laos.

Go on an 7-day tour combining cultural visits, meeting locals and culinary discoveries. Start with the Bolovens Plateau living to the rhythm of its waterfalls and tea and coffee plantations. Then sail between the 4,000 islands of the Mekong River living quietly to the rhythm of the water. Visit the Wat Phou temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, and the bucolic village of Champasak.

Day 1: Pakse – Boloven Plateau

The local English-speaking guide will meet you at the airport upon arrival in Pakse.

Then head to the Plateau des Bolovens, famous for its waterfalls, its fertile lands offering the best teas and coffees in the country or even the Indochinese peninsula. You will not miss a few tastings, on the advice of your guide. On the way, stop at Wat Pa (Big Buddha Forest Temple) where you will be immediately overwhelmed by a sense of peace and quiet. Discover also the waterfalls of Tad Lo before reaching Thatheng and its ethnic villages (Lao Loum, Taoy, Lavenh, etc.) then arrival at the Resort.

Day 2: Boloven Plateau (B, L)

Breakfast, then departure at 8 a.m. to join Paksong and embark in Soviet or Chinese Jeeps of another time for a real immersion in the heart of the Boloven Plateau between rivers, tracks, villages and plantations of coffee and tea trees. You will reach Jhai Coffee house where you will take the time to enjoy a cup of coffee.

On the way to the waterfalls of Tad Moun, admire the vegetable crops of all kinds (ginger, cucumbers, cabbage, salads, etc.).

It will then be time to join the Khamsone coffee plantation for lunch at the farm, with coffee and fruit.

Then go to meet the Laven minorities to discover their lifestyle and their daily life and visit some traditional habitats before returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Boloven Plateau – 4,000 Islands (B)

After breakfast, drive to the impressive twin waterfalls of Tad Fane. Take the time to visit the Tad Yuang waterfall on the Bolovens plateau, as it has become more accessible and friendly to tourists in recent years and then head south.

Discover the village Taoy of Ban Nong Bune famous for its wood carvings. The village produces many interesting products, from ceremonial masks and sculptures to practical everyday objects such as wooden plates and outdoor lamps. Take a break at the Taoy village of Phonsaat, known for its funerary rituals and its artisans who boast the natural fibers then direction Nakasang, from where you will embark on a motor canoe that will lead you among the «4,000 islands» of the Mekong.

You will reach the islands of Done Det and Done Khone, peaceful lands with a very marked French colonial past with its buildings, its bridge connecting the 2 islands and its railway that allowed to transship goods on both sides of the cataracts.

Day 4: 4,000 islands (B)

Breakfast at the hotel then departure by bike on the sandy paths of the islands of Don Det and Don Khone accompanied by our guide! You will pass along flat paths that will lead you to unmissable sites such as that of the ancient locomotive, the bridge with 13 arches that dates from the French colonial era of the early twentieth century and which connects Don Det to Don Khone and the remains of colonial buildings.

Lunch and departure to the Lippi Falls, locally called Tad Sompamit (very easy level, flat route) while taking the peaceful rhythm of the island. An ideal and quiet way to observe, capture and soak up local and rural life. Activity is intense in the rainy season, when fishermen build bamboo fish traps in unlikely places at the risk of their lives. By taking paths on wires stretched above the furious waterfalls. Return to your hotel and quiet end of the day on the island.

Day 5: 4,000 islands – Champasak (B)

Breakfast then crossing by canoe to reach the mainland to reach the waterfalls of Khone Phapheng, further south, on the border with Cambodia. They are among the most impressive waterfalls in this region of Asia and are the largest in the world! Then go back to Champasak with a stop to visit another temple of the same era as the Wat Phou, the Vat Uomo (also called Oubmong). It also contains pre-Angkorian sculptures, including a beautiful Mukhalinga (a human-headed linga now located at the Vat Phou Museum).

After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the jewel of southern Laos: the temple of Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Its style is preangkorian. The cultural landscape of Champasak, including the entire temple of Wat Phou, represents an area of planned landscape dating back over a thousand years and remarkably well preserved. After discovering the site, visit the museum before arriving at the hotel and free dinner.

Day 6: Champasak (B)

Breakfast at the hotel before exploring the temple of Muang Kang. Dating back to the 19th century, Wat Muang Kang is the oldest active temple in Champasak. History lovers will appreciate the mix of European, Siamese, Burmese and Chinese influences in this temple with high white columns and steep roofs.

Then return to town for a walk through the picturesque alleys of Champasak to spot buildings of the colonial era still standing. With for example the current church of Champasak which is located in the locality of Bane Phanom, on the right bank of the Mekong, just south of Wat Luang Khao, at the time when the road to go from Champasak to Wat Phou departs from the banks of the great river.

Lunch then in the afternoon, transfer to the pier to cross the Mekong to the island of Don Daeng for a bike ride or walk on the picturesque paths of the island of Don Daeng. Here, no car… you will be very far from everything for a retreat combining serenity, rest, hiking and cycling in the heart of a preserved countryside remained very authentic. Return by boat to enjoy the sunset on the river, a unique moment at the time of the aperitif, at your discretion!

Paradize Cave

Nestled in the heart of Phong Nha – Ke Bàng National Park, the Cave of Paradise, or Thiên Đường Cave, is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of Vietnam. Discovered in 2005, this majestic cavity extends over 31 kilometers, making it one of the longest dry caves in Asia. From the first steps, the visitor quickly understands the origin of his name: the impression of entering a magical world, almost unreal.

The descent begins with a wooden staircase that slowly sinks into the depths of the karst massif. As the external light fades, an immense natural amphitheatre appears, illuminated by a discreet system that values its mineral architecture. Stalactites and stalagmites with astonishing shapes stand like giant sculptures, shaped by water and time over millions of years. Some formations evoke ancient columns, others recall delicately pleated stone curtains; all rival in size and elegance.

The wooden trail, perfectly laid out, allows you to walk about a kilometer of gallery open to the public. Phong Nha Cave

Considered one of the most iconic natural treasures of Vietnam, Phong Nha Cave is a geological wonder located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Phong Nha – Ke Bàng National Park. Dive into the atmosphere of Hanoi in the 36-guild district during a cyclo ride.

Take a gourmet break and enjoy the egg coffee, a specialty of the city.

Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shores of Ho Tay Lake.

After lunch, discover the Temple of Literature, before ending the day with a visit to the Vietnamese women’s museum where traditional women’s costumes are remarkably highlighted.

Day 3 | Hanoi | B

Day 4 | Hanoi – Mai Hich | B, L, D

Our English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel around 8 a.m. to take the road of Mai Hich via through Hoa Binh Village.

Stop at the top of the pass to enjoy the panoramic view over the valley of Mai Chau. Then, continue the journey to the village of Mai Chau where live the White Thais, ethnic minorities of the region, which you meet during lunch at home. Go by bycicle through the rice fields to discover the villages of the region and the daily life of the White Thais.

Continue your journey to Mai Hich by car before a 2-hour walk through the rice fields that will take you to your host’s for dinner and overnight at the homestay.

Day 5 | Mai Hich – Pu Luong | B, D

After breakfast, around 8:30, leave your hosts to join Pu Luong. Discover local life during a 2 to 3-hour walk through the rice fields and small trails used by farmers, then have lunch (not included) à la carte in a local restaurant overlooking the Pu Luong valley.

Continue your walk for another 1h30 to reach the guest house in Huyen Ba Thuoc which offers a panoramic view of Pu Luong for the night. Relaxation before cooking with your host and dinner then overnight at the homestay.

Day 6 | Pu Luong – Tam Coc | B, L

After breakfast, departure by car to go discover a waterfall of the area. Relaxation by the water and 1-hour walk before lunch with the local.

Enjoy a ride on a bamboo raft of the region before taking the road to Tam Coc where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 7 | Tam Coc | B, L

Early departure from the hotel around 8 a.m., with our English-speaking guide.

Head to the stunning Van Long Nature Reserve and discover its beautiful scenery as you cruise on a small sampan while admiring its bird populations.

Then, go to Hoa Lu, former imperial capital, with its temples and pagodas, under the shade of century-old trees.

After lunch, discover another marvel of architecture, Bai Dinh Pagoda. It is the largest Buddhist complex in Southeast Asia, imbued with spirituality. You enter through the impressive Tam Quan gate before admiring the entire site, with its huge golden Buddha statues, caves and temples, surrounded by lush vegetation.

Day 8 | Tam Coc | B, L

Departure from the hotel around 9 a.m., with our English-speaking tour guide to go to Tay Phu village and visit of local market. Then, discover how the Bánh Chung is made, a traditional dish of the Tet festival in Vietnam.

After a lunch in a local house, meet the families who are still doing the local crafts: making rice noodles, water hyacinth baskets, reed mats, tofu… You will have the opportunity to discover and take part in their activities while providing them some support and additional income.

At the end of the day, go for a bicycle ride on the dam, in a peaceful setting away from the cars and among the flowers before returning to the hotel.

Day 9 | Tam Coc – Tu Long Bay | B, L, D

Departure by bus around 7 a.m. to go to the harbor of Ha Long.

On the boat, meet the English-speaking tour guide and start your cruise with the lunch in the middle of the impressive rocky peaks of Tu Long Bay.

In the afternoon, a kayak tour will immerse you in the magnificent landscapes of the bay near Cap La Island.

At the end of the day, admire the amazing sunset igniting the bay before dinner. Then discover squid fishing after dinner or relax with some board games, perfect for a family evening.

Day 10 | Tu Long Bay – Hue | B, L

If you are an early riser, marvel at the splendor of the sunrise over the immensity of the bay during a Tai Chi session.
After breakfast, discover Thienh Canh Son Cave.

Come back to the boat for check out and lunch, then return to the harbor to take the road to Hanoi where you arrive around 3 p.m.

In the evening, night train to Hue (transfer to the train station not included).

Our driver greets you at the station then transfer to the hotel. Around 10 a.m., departure with our English-speakin guide to discover Dong Ba market.

Late morning, a small boat awaits you on the lagoon for a boat ride. You will discover the local fishing, before enjoying a lunch based on seafood.

End your day by discovering the charming village of Thanh Thuy, its rural museum and its picturesque wooden bridge covered with tiles.

In the evening we will meet to enjoy a dinner together, which will be an opportunity to share about Vietnam.

Day 12 | Hue | B, L

Our English-speaking tour guide meets you at your hotel around 9 a.m. to go to the harbor and embark on a traditional dragon boat.

Cruise on the Perfume River and let yourself be carried by the stream to the marvelous Thien Mu Pagoda.

Then, go to visit the Imperial City.

After lunch, go to the countryside of Hue to discover the history of the Tomb of Tu Duc and to walk the paths of its gardens in the middle of the bodies of water.

Then, make a photo stop at the incense village and go back to the hotel.

Day 14 | Hue – Hoi An | B

Departure from your hotel around 9 a.m. with our driver.

Take the road to Hoi An and enjoy a photo break at the Lang Co Lagoon.

Then from the Hai Van Pass, contemplate the region’s sumptuous landscapes, with its lush forests and panoramic sea views.

Then make a stop at the Marble Mountain and venture out on this solitary limestone, at the southern edge of Danang which houses a complex of caves and pagodas before arriving in Hoi An.

Day 15 | Hoi An | B, L

Departure from your hotel around 9 a.m. with our English-speaking tour guide for a bicycle ride in the surrounding through the ricefields and the countryside.

Go for a basket boat trip to the village of Cam Thanh and discover the forest of the nipas, 3 km from the city, which invites you to a walk in the green.

After lunch, discover the pottery village of Thanh Ha known for its five hundred years of artisanal production.

Finally, visit the old town with its Chinese communal houses and the local market.

Day 16 | Hoi An | B, L

After breakfast, around 9 a.m., our English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel to go visit the old sanctuary of My Son.

After a one-hour drive through the countryside and rice fields, the “little Angkor of Vietnam”, built by the Cham people in the 4th century and lasting until the 13th century, is revealed to you in its natural setting.

It highlights the remains of this civilization in a very natural setting.

Go back to Hoi An after lunch.

Start the day by immersing yourself in the atmosphere of Chinatown. Venture through the stalls of the Soai Kinh Lam fabric market and visit the Thien Hau Pagoda known as the Heavenly Lady’s Pagoda, which protects the sailors and the fishermen.

Visit a temple dedicated to the founder of the goldsmith and then the church of Saint-François. Built at the end of the 19th century, the decoration of this church is known for its Chinese inscriptions on precious wooden plaques.

In the afternoon, after lunch, discover traditional Asian medicine during the visit of the Fito museum and then discover the streets of district 10 before returning to the hotel.

Day 20 | Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta | B, L, D

Visit a brick factory, discover a workshop making coconut candy, admire the meticulous work to handicraft woven mat and visit a bonsai village before lunch then go to Vinh Long for the dinner and night at the homestay.

Day 22 | Cai Be – Binh Minh– Tan Quoi | B, L, D

Transfer to Phu An Jetty at 8.30a.m. Observe life of the people going about their daily activities and stop at various points along the river for a look into some of the cottage industries of the region,including the making of coconut candy and puffed rice and a visit to an ancient house in Dong Hoa village and a clay pot factory.

Lunch is served on board while cruising towards Binh Minh along a narrow canal teeming with life. Enjoy shore excursions to gain insight into how the local people make a living, and stop for a visit to a Cao Dai temple.

Back to your sampan and enjoy the sunset cruise while Song Xanh continues its way towards the Hau River. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 23 | Tan Quoi – Can Tho | B, L, D

Wake up early at 6 a.m. for a visit to the famous Cai Rang Floating Market. Witness the hustle and bustle of the morning market as traders offer their wares on the waterway vying for attention from potential buyers. Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards the market among local barges loaded down with fruits and vegetables from the Delta.

Stop at a granny who makes brooms out of coconut rods, entirely by hand… Then visit Dèp our friend who makes incense sticks across the river.

Day 25 | Immersion with the locals | B, L, D

Breakfast then walk along the river. Then head to the school. As in the past… It smells good the dust inside the books with the cornered pages and the fine sand of the playground returned by these restless little feet propels us a few years back. A Vietnamese version of Tom Sawyer’s school. What an emotion to see the meeting of children from two different countries. Visit a blacksmith by the river. In the afternoon, bycicle ride to discover the local activities then return to the homestay for dinner (not included) and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 | Mai Chau – Pu Luong | B, L

After breakfast, around 8.30 a.m., leave your hosts to join Pu Luong. Discover the local life during a 2 to 3-hour walk through rice fields and small trails used by farmers, then have lunch in a local restaurant overlooking the Pu Luong valley.

Then, transfer to your hotel to relax by the pool or according to your desires, possibility to continue your walk on foot then free dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 | Pu Luong – Tam Coc | B, L

After breakfast departure by car around 9 a.m. to go discover the norias and the region of Pu Luong then lunch.

Then enjoy a ride on an atypical bamboo raft of the region before taking the road to Tam Coc where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 7 | Tam Coc | B

In the morning, discover the peaceful environment of a monastery located in the mountains near Hue and marvel at its orchids.

Then, go to the countryside of Hue to discover the history of the Tomb of Tu Duc and to walk the paths of its gardens in the middle of the bodies of water.

After lunch, learn how to make paper flowers with with deaf and dumb, which will make you an original souvenir to bring back from your trip. End the day with a dragon boat cruise to Thien Mu Pagoda.

Day 12 | Hue – Danang | B

Cross the Thu Bon River to reach the village of Kim Bong where you will meet the wood carvers. Also discover the work of mother of pearl, the manufacture of mats and the weaving of the famous basket boats.

Around 8:30 a.m., departure with our local English-speaking drivers for the first stage of your motorcycle tour between Dalat and Buon Ma Thuot. You take the road towards Lake Lak, one of the largest natural lakes in the Central Highlands, located near the village of Jun, mostly inhabited by the ethnic group M’nong. This first stop offers an authentic immersion in the local culture, between traditional houses and serene lake landscapes. Lunch will be taken on the way.

Day 2 (B, L, D) – Off the beaten track: Elephant Rock, Ho Chi Minh road and waterfalls

This second day of your motorcycle road trip in Vietnam takes you on a isolated forest path, far from the tourist trails, to admire the grandiose landscapes of the Highlands countryside. The stops in small hamlets allow to observe the daily life of the local populations and to grasp the cultural richness of this preserved region. Lunch will be taken on the way.

A short 20-minute climb then takes you to the top of Elephant Rock Mountain, a spectacular viewpoint over the surrounding mountains.
You then continue by motorcycle on the famous Ho Chi Minh trail, one of the most beautiful roads in Vietnam, to reach several impressive waterfalls.

Day 3 (B, L) – Yok Don National Park and ehtnic vilalges around Buon Ma Thuot

For this last day on a motorcycle, you will explore the Yok Don National Park, the largest protected reserve in Vietnam. A walk of about 40 minutes allows to observe the particular flora of the Highlands and to appreciate the tranquility of the tropical dry forest.

The road then continues towards the surroundings of Buon Ma Thuot, between ethnic minority villages and traditional plantations. You arrive at the end of the day in the capital of Vietnamese coffee, thus ending your motorcycle tour between Dalat and Buon Ma Thuot in the heart of a territory rich in cultures and landscapes.

Around 10 a.m., start the 5-hour trek through the jungle to Hang Pigmy Cave with a lunch break on the way.

At 3 p.m., it will be time to explore the cave for about 3.2 km with abseiling inside to admire these impressive rock formations.

Then set up camp for the night and dinner in the middle of the nature.

Day 2 (B, L):

After breakfast, around 8 a.m., it is time to fold the camp before resuming the hike in the jungle.
