Discovery of Tam Coc
Description
Discovery of Tam Coc - The inland Halong Bay
A few hours south of Hanoi, the region of Tam Coc reveals one of the most captivating landscapes of Vietnam.
Between limestone mountains, golden rice fields and winding rivers, this magical place is nicknamed the 'terrestrial Halong Bay', as its karst formations remind of the mythical landscapes of the north.
A traditional boat ride along the Ngo Dong river immerses you in a setting of striking beauty: natural caves, cliffs covered with vegetation, golden reflections of the sun on the water.
Here, time seems suspended, punctuated by the oars of the village women who, with grace, navigate between nature and tradition.
This excursion in Tam Coc is also an encounter with Vietnamese culture: visit of the pagodas of Bich Dong nestled in the mountain, discovery of the Bai Dinh pagoda, one of the largest Buddhist sanctuaries of the country, and exchanges with the inhabitants who live in the heart of these timeless landscapes.
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will live a day between nature, spirituality and serenity, in an authentic Vietnam where each stone and each rice field tells a story.
An unforgettable experience, at the crossroads of heritage and contemplation.

Bai Dinh Pagoda, a spiritual masterpiece of Vietnam
Located about fifteen kilometers from Tam Coc, the pagoda of Bai Dinh is an exceptional place, symbol of Buddhist fervor and harmony between spirituality and nature.
It is the largest religious complex in Vietnam, a monumental and peaceful site that attracts pilgrims and travelers from all over the country.
A sacred site between mountains and forests
The Bai Dinh pagoda extends over more than 500 hectares, at the foot of green hills and natural caves.
The place exudes a serene atmosphere, where the song of birds mixes with the murmur of the wind in the trees.
From the entrance, the visitor is seized by the majesty of the site: monumental statues, stone lanterns, stairs lined with hundreds of golden Buddhas and richly decorated pavilions.
The visit often begins with the ancient pagoda, hidden in a limestone cave, before continuing to the modern pagoda, erected on the hillside, which offers a spectacular view of the surrounding valley.
A grandiose architectural ensemble
Built in 2003, the new Bai Dinh pagoda pays tribute to traditional Vietnamese architecture, while impressing with its colossal dimensions:
- A bronze Buddha more than 10 meters high,
- A golden stupa visible several kilometers away,
- And more than 500 statues of Buddhas lined up in a covered gallery nearly 3 km long.
Every detail, from glazed tiles to finely carved woodwork, demonstrates an ancestral know-how and a deep respect for the symbols of Buddhism.
