Halong Bay
A must-see site in Vietnam listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, Halong Bay is an immense body of water rich in about 2000 loaves of sugar emerging from the sea.
Its name comes from legends that a dragon, by the strength of its tail, has shaped this fragmented landscape recognizable among all. «Ha Long» means «dragon descending into the sea».
The legend tells that the exceptional landscape of this bay is due to the dragon, to be wonderful and beneficial to Vietnam, which would have descended into the sea to tame the marine currents. Struggling, he cut the mountain with his tail. And as the water level began to rise, it showed only the highest peaks.
Board a boat for an unforgettable cruise or fly over Halong Bay by seaplane. Explore Lan Ha Bay further south, less touristy but equally spectacular, or Bai Tu Long, to the north. On the program: hidden caves, kayak ride, swimming, visit of fishing villages.
Note that for the 3 days and 2 nights cruises, except in private junk, the second day takes place on a different boat for activities (day 2 bis in the programs) which comes between days 1 and 2 of the programs of 2 days and 1 night.

Questions & Answers
Halong Bay - How long to stay?
In fact, it depends mainly on the period when you make your cruise.
- During the summer period it is nice to swim, kayak and sunbathe on the deck, so it is nice to spend 1 to 2 nights on a boat. Moreover, spending 2 nights on the boat really allows you to fully enjoy the Bay since the second day you will reach the most remote places of the Bay of Lan Ha or Tu Long with very few tourists and can admire the landscapes drawn by the breads of sugar with a limited number of boats.
- During the rainy and cooler season we advise against doing 3 days and 2 nights. You have the opportunity to spend only one day on the Bay, but considering the transfers from Hanoi we still recommend enjoying a night in these exceptional landscapes.
Halong Bay - How to get there?
Most cruises offer minibus and limousine bus services to and from Hanoi, which we highly recommend to facilitate your trip and which is very convenient to and from Hanoi and which takes about 3 hours.
Nevertheless, in order to optimize your trips and your trip, also consider transfers directly to and from Nine Bein, the terrestrial Halong Bay (about 3h30 journey) which saves you from passing through Hanoi and therefore is a significant time saving during your trip. You can make this trip by minibus or private transport for optimal comfort.
Finally, if you plan after your cruise to reach Central Vietnam with a transfer by plane, Take a private car that will take you directly from Cat Ba or Ha Long to Hanoi Airport and we strongly advise you to take your flight the same day rather than the next morning.
