Stay at home 3 days/2 nights and more in the Mekong Delta – Can Tho
Description
Stay at Phuong & César, Homestay immersion in the Mekong Delta
Staying at Phuong & César, in the heart of the Mekong Delta, is offering a rare, intimate and deeply authentic immersion in local life. Far from the rhythm of cities, you discover a universe shaped by water and the sweetness of landscapes: tropical gardens, peaceful canals, lush orchards and traditional houses bathed in light.
Upon your arrival, the warm welcome of your hosts sets the tone. Here, every moment becomes a moment of sharing: a cup of tea served in the cool of the morning, the scent of rice that cooks gently, the laughter of children who cross the courtyard, the song of birds above the water palm. It is a tender, lively, generous Vietnam - one that you only see when you take the time to stop.
Over these 2 days or more, you explore the floating villages, navigate the small canals by boat, visit the local markets still preserved, and discover the secrets of a family cuisine as simple as delicious. All around, nature breathes, calm and bright, offering a moment of appeasement and sincere encounters.
At Phuong & César, the experience goes far beyond a single night: it is a fabulous, human, sensitive immersion that connects you to the deep soul of the Mekong. A sweet and unforgettable adventure, made of everyday gestures, smiles and real moments.

Example of an immersion stay at César’s
Day 1: (L, D)
We’ll take you in a canoe at the meeting point. Visit of the «local market».
Phuong your French-speaking guide and cousin Hao will be your private guides for the day. To date no traveler comes to this colorful, joyful and very lively market. Walking in the alleys overloaded with goods, observing the surprise of the population is fun.
Lunch on the spot.
Then departure at our friend making woven bamboo baskets near the river. Real valuable know-how.
Visit of a Cao Dai Temple. This religion with very colorful temples will amaze you with its diversity. She had as spiritual guides many thinkers and philosophers. Sometimes we attend certain ceremonies with music. On the way... this smell of water, this mysterious brush of insects in the mangroves, this murmur of long leaves that shiver, these low roofs chlorophilised with fresh water herbs packed around the furrow, the slightest vegetal curvature on the calm water keeps the indefinite imprint of the passage of our pirogue, a colorful note passes furtively it’s the disturbed kingfisher... you are at the heart of the mangroves!
We will continue on our way to a charcoal company on the banks of the river. Families live in the workplace. Explanations and surprising meetings!
Return home in the late afternoon. If you wish, make the dinner with our super cook Huynh. Seasonal fruits and nice evening guaranteed with us or at the neighbors.
Dau 2: (B, L, D)
In the morning, the light arrives on a galloping horse, thus specifying the discreet and anticipated agitation of your hosts.
Vietnamese breakfast then departure for a day of discovery of the countryside on a scooter as passengers.
The rice miller. This machine straight out of a Tim Burton movie will show you what happens upstream before this little grain of rice ends up on your plate.
A roof and walls of coconut leaves dried in the sun announce the appointment with our friend Mamie, an atypical cook for lunch by the river.
Visit of a broom factory made of coconut stems. Entirely by hand... Manufacturer of incense sticks by the river, homogenization of the paste, selection of stems, coordination of gestures.
Return home through the rice fields.
Dinner and evening. We will teach you if you wish to play Tien Len, a very popular card game here in Vietnam and/or kaaraooooké... Fun evening guaranteed!
At night here, the water seems to keep the light longer, the slightest mangrove leaf has its shadow. It’s time to sleep.
Day 3: (B, L)
Breakfast then walk along the river. Time to go to school.
As before... it smells good the dust inside the books with their corny pages and the fine sand of the playground turned upside down by these little restless feet propels us a few years back. A Vietnamese version of Tom Sawyer’s school. What an emotion to see the meeting of children from two different countries.
Visit a blacksmith by the river. Knives, sickles, machetes have no secrets for him.
Lunch on the way or at home. Depending on your travel requirements, we will walk in our fruit garden behind the house and/or initiation to the manufacture of coconut massage oil.
After the visits, transfer to the meeting place for your next destination.
