Program of the cruise on the Mekong

This 2-day and 1-night cruise aboard the Bassac takes you to the heart of the Mekong Delta, discovering a rural, generous and soothing Vietnam.
Between floating markets, tropical orchards and lake villages, you will live an authentic and serene experience, punctuated by the river life.

Day 1 - Cai Be, canals and sunset on the Mekong

(Lunch, Dinner)

Departure from the port of Cai Be around noon to embark on the Bassac to start the cruise on the Mekong and lunch.

In the afternoon, the Bassac slips into the Chŭ Lách canal, amidst the hustle and bustle of river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the very varied life of the Delta.

Then, go for a tour on the land and discover the delta countryside, rice paddies, fruit trees and welcoming locals, or, at your choice, a short bicycle tour of the surrounding area.

Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset and then dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2 - Cai Rang Floating Market and local life of the delta

The boat sets sail at 6 o'clock and then sails via Tra On. Then, it times go back to Can Tho. Breakfast is available at 7 a.m.

Arrival in Can Tho, transfer to a smaller boat to visit the floating market of Cai Rang where vendors hang their goods at the end of a pole to signal what they offer, creating a colorful show, unique in the world. Your guide will tell you the history and traditions of this centuries-old market, the beating heart of the Mekong Delta. Then visit a noodle factory and return to the Ninh Kieu pier around 10 a.m. in Can Tho.
