Program of the trip around Hanoi
Day 1 | Hanoi | L
Our English-speaking guide will meet you at the airport upon your arrival then transfer to the hotel for early check in. You will then receive our Road Book with useful information and restaurant recommendations for your trip and your eSim.
Then, around 10 a.m., dive into the atmosphere of Hanoi in the 36-guild district during a cyclo ride.
Take a gourmet break and enjoy the egg coffee, a specialty of the city.
Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shores of Ho Tay Lake.
After lunch, discover the Temple of Literature, before ending the day with a visit to the Vietnamese women’s museum where traditional women’s costumes are remarkably highlighted.

Day 2 | Hanoi | B, L
Our English-speaking tour guide meets you around 8 a.m. Leave for the old town of Duong Lam where time seems to have stopped.
On the way, visit the Tay Phuong pagoda before arriving at the village of Mong Phu, a typical village in the Red River Delta with its history dating back more than 1,200 years and full of old houses dating from the 17th century. Walk through the small streets of the village in the middle of the laterite walls which have acquired this pretty brown color over time, discover the manufacture of soy sauce, taste specialties of the region and visit the town hall then lunch at home.
In the afternoon, visit Mia’s Pagoda and then Thay Pagoda, known as the Master’s Pagoda.

Day 3 | Hanoi – Mai Chau | B, L
Departure with our English-speaking guide around 8 a.m. to take the road to Mai Chau.
Stop at the top of the pass to enjoy the panoramic view of the Mai Chau valley. Then continue the journey to the village of Mai Chau, home of the White Thais ethnic minority, whom you meet during you lunch with the locals.
In the afternoon, bycicle ride to discover the activities of the locals then go to the hotel.

Day 4 | Mai Chau – Pu Luong | B, L
After breakfast, around 8:30 a.m., join Pu Luong. Discover the local life during a 2 to 3-hour walk through rice fields and small trails used by farmers, then have lunch in a local restaurant overlooking the Pu Luong valley.
Then, transfer to your hotel to relax by the pool or according to your desires, possibility to continue your walk on foot.

Day 5 | Pu Luong – Tam Coc | B, L
After breakfast, drive to discover a waterfall in the region. Relaxation by the water and 1-hour walk before lunch with the locals.
Enjoy a ride on a bamboo raft of the region before taking the road to Tam Coc where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 6 | Tam Coc | B, L
Early departure from the hotel around 8 a.m., with our English-speaking guide.
Enjoy a boat ride along the water, about 1h30, in the middle of the limestones. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of the place, admire the green rice fields and the mountains carved out of caves.
Admire Bich Dong Pagoda by the water, a Buddhist sanctuary in the middle of nowhere, built against the rock, in a splendid green setting.
After lunch, discover another marvel of architecture in an electric car, Bai Dinh Pagoda. It is the largest Buddhist complex in Southeast Asia, imbued with spirituality. You enter through the impressive Tam Quan gate before admiring the entire site, with its huge golden Buddha statues, caves and temples, surrounded by lush vegetation.
At the end of the day, admire the panoramic view of the region from Mua Cave.

Day 7 | Tam Coc | B, L
Departure from the hotel around 9 a.m., with our English-speaking tour guide to go to Tay Phu village and visit of local market. Then, discover how the Bánh Chung is made, a traditional dish of the Tet festival in Vietnam.
After a lunch in a local house, meet the families who are still doing the local crafts: making rice noodles, water hyacinth baskets, reed mats, tofu... You will have the opportunity to discover and take part in their activities while providing them some support and additional income.
At the end of the day, go for a bicycle ride on the dam, in a peaceful setting away from the cars and among the flowers before returning to the hotel.

Day 8 | Tam Coc – Lan Ha Bay | B, L, D
Departure by car around 7 a.m., to go to Haiphong and take the ferry to Cat Ba Island.
Meet our English-speaking guide and embark on the private junk from the port of Cat Ba around noon to discover the southern region of Halong Bay, then enjoy lunch among the limestones.
In the afternoon, relax and swim on the beach of Van Doi before a going kayaking in Bai Tra Dao or Dau Be. Admire the sunset before dinner and learn about squid fishing.

Day 9 | Lan Ha Bay – Hanoi | B, L
If you are an early riser, marvel at the splendor of the sunrise over the immensity of the bay.
After breakfast, visit the village of Viet Hai by bycicle to discover this small local village.
Return to the boat for check-out and lunch, then return to the port around 11.45 a.m. to take the ferry again, then the road to Hanoi by car where you arrive around 4.30 p.m.

Transfer to Hanoi airport during the day for your return flight.
