This 21-day Vietnam tour invites you to a total immersion in the richness of the country, between nature, culture and living traditions.
From the mountainous North to the Historic Center, this complete itinerary of 21 days and 20 nights is designed to offer an authentic and nuanced vision of Vietnam, through its landscapes, its inhabitants and its way of life.

You will start your journey in the vibrant capital of Hanoi before reaching the peaceful valleys of Mai Chau and Pu Luong, where rural life still follows the rhythm of the seasons.
Encounters with local ethnic groups, walks in the middle of rice terraces and nights in houses on stilts will reveal the deep and warm Vietnam.

The journey continues towards the karst landscapes of Tam Coc, the "terrestrial Halong Bay", then on the peaceful waters of Halong Bay, where a refined sunset cruise will mark a moment of absolute wonder.

Finally, the Center of Vietnam will unveil its imperial heritage in Hue, before charming you with the flowered alleys and lanterns of Hoi An, symbol of a poetic and timeless Vietnam.

Discovery tour of Vietnam, 21-day itinerary from the North to the Center

This 21-day Vietnam tour takes you from the mountainous North to the historic center, passing through spectacular natural landscapes and cities with a rich cultural heritage.
A complete itinerary to live Vietnam in all its diversity, between traditional villages, peaceful cruises and authentic local life.

 

Day 1 | Hanoi

Our driver will meet you at the airport on your arrival and transfer to the hotel.

You will then receive our Travel Book with useful information and restaurant recommendations for your trip and your eSim.

 

Day 2 | Hanoi | B, L

Our English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel around 9 a.m.

Dive into the atmosphere of Hanoi in the 36-guild district during a cyclo ride.

Take a gourmet break and enjoy the egg coffee, a specialty of the city.

Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shores of Ho Tay Lake.

After lunch, discover the Temple of Literature, before ending the day with a visit to the Vietnamese women’s museum where traditional women’s costumes are remarkably highlighted.

At the end of the day, assist to the waterpuppet show.

 

Day 3 | Hanoi | B

Free day in Hanoi according to the recommendations of our Travel Book.

 

Day 4 | Hanoi | B, L

Our English-speaking tour guide meets you around 8 a.m. Leave for the old town of Duong Lam where time seems to have stopped.

On the way, visit the Tay Phuong pagoda before arriving at the village of Mong Phu, a typical village in the Red River Delta with its history dating back more than 1,200 years and full of old houses dating from the 17th century. Walk through the small streets of the village in the middle of the laterite walls which have acquired this pretty brown color over time, discover the manufacture of soy sauce, taste specialties of the region and visit the town hall then lunch at home.

In the afternoon, visit Mia Pagoda and then Thay Pagoda, known as the Master’s Pagoda.

 

Day 5 | Hanoi - Mai Hich | B, L, D

Our English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel around 8 a.m. to take the road of Mai Hich via through Hoa Binh Village.

Stop at the top of the pass to enjoy the panoramic view over the valley of Mai Chau. Then, continue the journey to the village of Mai Chau where live the White Thais, ethnic minorities of the region, which you meet during lunch at home. Go by bycicle through the rice fields to discover the villages of the region and the daily life of the White Thais.

Continue your journey to Mai Hich by car before a 2-hour walk through the rice fields that will take you to your host’s for dinner and overnight at the homestay.

 

Day 6 | Mai Hich - Pu Luong | B, D

After breakfast, around 8:30, leave your hosts to join Pu Luong. Discover local life during a 2 to 3-hour walk through the rice fields and small trails used by farmers, then have lunch (not included) à la carte in a local restaurant overlooking the Pu Luong valley.

Continue your walk for another 1h30 to reach the guest house in Huyen Ba Thuoc which offers a panoramic view of Pu Luong for the night. Relax before cooking with your host and dinner. Night with the locals.

 

Day 7 | Pu Luong - Tam Coc| B, L

After breakfast, drive to discover a waterfall in the region. Relaxation by the water and 1-hour walk before lunch with the locals.

Enjoy a ride on a bamboo raft of the region before taking the road to Tam Coc where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

 

Day 8 | Tam Coc | B, L

Early departure from the hotel around 8 a.m., with our English-speaking guide.

Head to the stunning Van Long Nature Reserve and discover its beautiful scenery as you cruise on a small sampan while admiring its bird populations.

Then, go to Hoa Lu, former imperial capital, with its temples and pagodas, under the shade of century-old trees.

After lunch, discover another marvel of architecture, Bai Dinh Pagoda. It is the largest Buddhist complex in Southeast Asia, imbued with spirituality. You enter through the impressive Tam Quan gate before admiring the entire site, with its huge golden Buddha statues, caves and temples, surrounded by lush vegetation.

 

Day 9 | Tam Coc | B

Leisure day in Ninh Binh according to the recommendations of our Travel Book. Bicycles are available at the hotel.

 

Day 10 | Tam Coc - Tu Long Bay | B, L, D

Departure by minibus, around 7 a.m., to go to the harbor of Ha Long.

On the boat, meet the English-speaking tour guide and start your cruise with the lunch in the middle of the impressive rocky peaks of Tu Long Bay.

In the afternoon, a kayak tour will immerse you in the magnificent landscapes of the bay near Cap La Island.

At the end of the day, admire the amazing sunset igniting the bay before dinner. Then discover squid fishing after dinner or relax with some board games, perfect for a family evening.

 

Day 11 | Tu Long Bay | B, L, D

If you wake up early morning, enjoy the sunrise on the bay during a Tai Chi session before breakfast.

In the morning join a small boat for the day then kayak ride or relax on the boat.

After lunch, visit floating villages and the fishing village of Vung Vieng in Tu Long Bay in a small raft.

Then, depending on the weather, discover the Thay cave before returning to the boat in the late afternoon to relax before dinner.

 

Day 12 | Lan Ha Bay - Hué | B, L

If you are an early riser, marvel at the splendor of the sunrise over the immensity of the bay during a Tai Chi session.
After breakfast, discover Thienh Canh Son Cave.

Come back to the boat check out and lunch then return to the harbor to go to Hanoi airport for the flight to Hue. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 13 | Hue | B, L, D

Around 8.15 a.m., it’s the departure, with our English-speaking guide, for the Forbidden City, to attend the changing of the guard. The Royal Palace, UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a splendid set of monuments made of impressive walls and refined palaces.

In the late morning, a small boat awaits you on the lagoon for a boat trip. Discover the local fishing, before enjoying a seafood lunch.

Discover the village of Thanh Thuy, its rural museum and its picturesque small wooden bridge covered with tiles.

Finally come back downtown to have a coffee and share a moment with people with disabilities during a waffle workshop.

In the evening we will meet to enjoy a dinner together, which will be an opportunity to share about Vietnam.

 

Day 14 | Hue | B, L

Our English-speaking tour guide meets you at your hotel in the city center around 8 a.m. and you go to discover some handicrafts of Hue.

Start by discovering the homemade production of rice noodles typical of Hue that you can enjoy in the Bun Bo and other dishes of the region.

Continue your discovery with a bamboo workshop before admiring the work of weaving the reed to make the famous conical hat and bags.

Late morning discover a local pottery workshop and explore a timeless village with its traditional houses.

Finally enjoy a lunch on the seaside and relax on the beach before returning to Hue around 4.30 p.m.

 

Day 15 | Hue | B, L

Our English-speaking guide will meet you at the hotel around 9 a.m.

In the morning, discover the peaceful environment of a monastery located in the mountains near Hue and marvel at its orchids.

Then, go to the countryside of Hue to discover the history of the Tomb of Tu Duc and to walk the paths of its gardens in the middle of the bodies of water.

After lunch, learn how to make paper flowers with deaf and mute people and you will have an original souvenir to bring back from your trip.

 

Day 16 | Hue - Hoi An | B

Departure from your hotel around 9 a.m. with our driver.

Take the road to Hoi An and enjoy a photo break at the Lang Co Lagoon.

Then from the Hai Van Pass, contemplate the region’s sumptuous landscapes, with its lush forests and panoramic sea views.

Then make a stop at the Marble Mountain and venture out on this solitary limestone, at the southern edge of Danang which houses a complex of caves and pagodas before arriving in Hoi An.

 

Day 17 | Hoi An | B, L

Departure from the hotel around 10.30 a.m. with our driver.

Spend a few hours outside of Hoi An to discover this rum factory.

Visit the distillery during 45 minutes and discover all the equipments, the laboratory and the aging cellar, then enjoy a lunch while enjoying three white rums and two aged rums.

Leisure afternoon.

 

Day 18 | Hoi An | B, L

Departure around 8.30 a.m. with our English-speaking guide for a balade à vélo dans la campagne de Hoi An.

Cross the Thu Bon River to reach the village of Kim Bong where you will meet the wood carvers. Also discover the work of mother of pearl, the manufacture of mats and the weaving of the famous basket boats.

Finally join Cam Thanh for a basket boat ride amidst mangrove before lunch. First discover the preparation of the banh xeo then enjoy a foot massage.

Go back to the hotel after lunch. (possibility of return by electric car - fees not included).

Late afternoon, around 6.30 p.m. go to this theme park that recreates the atmosphere of the old city center of Hoi An.

Walk in the lively streets of this park and discover traditional shows until 7.30 p.m.

You can eat in one of the many restaurants offering a diverse gastronomy.

At 7.45 p.m., take your seat at the Hoi An Memories Show for a 1-hour live cultural show about the history of Hoi An.

This performance focuses on 5 themes: Life in Hoi An, Marriage, Lanterns, the Port of Commerce and to finish the Ao Dai.

 

Day 19 | Hoi An | B, L

Departure from your hotel around 8:30 a.m. to join this charming café restaurant in the middle of the rice fields of Hoi An.

Then departure by bycicle to join the local market about 1 kilometer through the rice fields and hamlets to discover the colorful stalls and buy some necessary ingredients for your cooking class.

The English-speaking chef will then guide you to prepare 4 traditional Vietnamese dishes for about 2 hours.

The experience ends with a convivial tasting of your creations in a unique setting, before a comfortable return to your hotel by car.

 

Day 20 | Hoi An | B

Leisure day in Hoi An.

 

Day 21 | Hoi An – Return flight | B

Transfer to Danang airport during the day for you return flight.
