Central Post of Saigon

Saigon’s central post office, located in the heart of District 1, is one of the city’s most emblematic monuments. From the arrival on its forecourt, its elegant yellow and white facade seduces with the finesse of its neo-classical lines. Inspired by the French colonial style and completed at the end of the 19th century, it bears the prestigious signature of Gustave Eiffel’s team – a detail that further adds to its historical aura.

Passing through the large arched door, one discovers a vast luminous nave with an arch ceiling, supported by refined metallic structures. The whole recalls the elegant architecture of old French stations, giving this place a timeless charm. Beneath the large portrait of Uncle Hô, the dark wooden counters, old telephone booths and maps painted on the walls tell the story of Saigon’s past with a soft and captivating nostalgia.

In this vibrant space of life, travelers and inhabitants meet to the rhythm of everyday life. Some come to post a letter as in the last century, others admire the architectural details or stroll in small souvenir shops. Cu Chi Tunnels & Cao Dai Temple

Going for a visit of the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Cao Dai temple is to live in a single day two powerful and contrasting facets of Vietnamese history and spirituality. As soon as you leave Ho Chi Minh City, the city fades to reveal the countryside of the South: light forests, small villages, rice fields… a peaceful setting that gently prepares for an encounter with the past.

When you enter the site of Cu Chi, the atmosphere is charged with emotion. Under your feet extends an impressive underground network, dug by hand by the Vietnamese fighters: kilometers of galleries, camouflaged rooms, ingenious traps… Every detail reveals the ingenuity and courage of a people determined to defend their land. To walk here is to touch a page of the modern history of Vietnam – intense, profound, sometimes overwhelming.

Then, the contrast is total: your day continues towards the Cao Đài temple, a fascinating place where bright colors, mystical symbols and a unique spiritual atmosphere mingle. Its baroque facade, its colorful towers and its hall adorned with multicolored dragons offer a dazzling spectacle. Inside, the faithful dressed in white gather for a hypnotic ceremony to the rhythm of sacred songs. It is an immersion in an astonishing syncretic religion, which unites Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism in a singular harmony.

The Cao Dai Temple

The Cao Dai temple, located in the city of Tây Ninh in southern Vietnam, fascinates at first sight. Erected in the 1930s, it stands out for its singular and deeply symbolic architecture that reflects the very essence of the Cao Đài religion: a unique syncretism bringing together Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism, Confucianism and even emblematic figures such as Victor Hugo or Sun Yat-sen. Here, each color, each pattern, each statue tells the quest for universal harmony.

Inside, the wonder intensifies. The large nave is a long, bright corridor where columns decorated with multicolored dragons, starry ceilings of a deep blue sky, and scintillating mosaics succeed one another. The whole evokes a vibrant spiritual universe, a bridge between Earth and Sky. In the center, the faithful, dressed in immaculate white, take their places for the daily ceremonies. Their silent presence, punctuated by sacred songs and traditional instruments, envelops the visitor in an aura of intense peace.

During the rituals, the atmosphere becomes almost hypnotic: the rhythmic prayers, the colors, the incense that float in the air… everything invites to contemplation. The Cao Đài temple is not only a place of worship – it is a sensory experience, a dive into a rare, bold, deeply authentic spirituality.

By visiting this unique place, one discovers much more than a monument: one immerses oneself in a vision of the world based on tolerance, the fusion of beliefs and the search for unity. A fabulous discovery, unforgettable for any traveler eager to understand the cultural wealth of Vietnam.
